New Ohio Theatre develops and presents bold new work from New York's independent theatre community. We believe that the best of this community, the small artist-driven companies who operate without a permanent theatrical home, are actively expanding the theatrical boundaries of the American theatre. We use our development and presenting programs to nurture, strengthen, and promote this community for Manhattan's most adventurous theater audiences.

We are currently accepting applications for Ice Factory 2019 and the Archive Residency 2020-21. The proposal submission deadline for this cycle is January 24, 2019 at 11:59 pm (EST) has been extended to January 31, at 11:59 PM (EST).

Companies and artists may apply to both programs, but not with the same project. See guidelines to determine which program is right for your project.

Archive Residency: Our two-year development and presenting program, in partnership with IRT Theater, culminating in a four-week world premiere presentation. We’re looking for companies with a proven track record of producing new work in NYC, and are ready for a fast-track producing residency. To apply for the Archive Residency, click here.

Ice Factory: Our summer festival for bold new work that is ready for a short run in front of a paying audience. The proposed work may be a work-in-progress, but must be at minimum a fully realized/simply staged production. To apply for Ice Factory, click here.
